Once he feels safe, he is gentle, loving, and eager to please. He does best in a calm, predictable environment with someone who enjoys having a loyal companion nearby.
He can be anxious when left alone and would benefit from a patient, understanding home that can offer structure and reassurance. Crate time helps him feel secure, and he is able to hold his bladder when crated.
He would do best as the only dog in the home. He does not seek interaction with other dogs and is happiest when he does not have to share his space or attention. Because of this, a single-dog household is important for his comfort and emotional well being.
He is not fully potty trained and will need continued house training. With consistency, routine, and positive reinforcement, he has the potential to make progress.
