Don Juan is a 2-year-old, scruffy, medium-sized heartthrob looking for his forever home. We spotted him at Chicago Animal Care and Control, and honestly, who in the world could resist that face?? We made him a Heartland dog as quickly as we could! With his adorable tousled fur and sweet smile, he has a way of winning people over almost instantly. True to his name, he’s got plenty of charm to spare.
Don Juan has been living in a foster home, and they report he is housebroken, crate trained, playful, snuggly, and an all around joy to have in the home.
At two years old, Don Juan has the perfect balance of playful energy and companionship. He enjoys walks, exploring new smells, and spending time with people and dogs alike, but he’s just as happy relaxing nearby once he’s had his fun. He’s past the puppy chaos and ready to settle into a routine with a family who will love him for who he is.
His foster mom writes, "Don Juan is a soft, cuddly, sweet, curious, gentle, teddy bear. With his constant wagging tail he lets everyone know how genuinely happy he is. When he plays with balls and other toys he sometimes entertains himself and is working on catching on balls in mid air. He has the cutest full sploot both inside and outside the house-- even in the snow!
While inside, he loves receiving massages and belly rubs while watching TV in my lap or next to me. He loves jumping into a cushion rocking chair to sit (good jumping agility) and look out at the forest. Don Juan goes up to bed easily, sleeps quietly, wakes up happy at any time, whatever time his foster gets up.
He is a perfect gentleman, is house trained, can go for 5-6 hours at a time and has never had an accident. He loves hiding bones (his favorite-- I can't find yet!), has high energy - does zoomies and plays tug inside and outside. Don Juan is an all around amazing companion and will be a fun addition to an active loving home."
Don Juan is hoping you will come adopt him. In return, he promises loyalty, entertainment, and a whole lot of love.
If you’re looking for a scruffy best friend with a big heart and a charming personality, choose your own adventure with Don Juan by your side!
Don Juan’s adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
