My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Talker! Never met a stranger-type kitty that loves laps!

Jett isn't just a cat-he's a powerful young male, a little over a year old, dressed in soft black pjs, with bright eyes full of curiosity and a voice that demands to be heard. He's the kind of cat that doesn't just walk into a room; he makes an entrance, meowing as if announcing, "I have arrived!"

Friendly to the core, Jett has never met a stranger. He will greet you are the door like an old friend, winding around your legs and demanding your undivided attention. He's a shameless attention seeker, always ready for cuddles, scritches and conversation. Ignore him too long and he'll let you know -- with a paw, a head butt, a little nibble, or a dramatic meow that says, "Excuse me, I'm here! Pay attention to me!" Jett demands a lap to sit on so be prepared to sit and relax on a regular basis. If your lap isn't available, he may feel the need to lay his head on your arm or a paw upon your shoulder.

Whether he's curled up in your lap like a warm velvet pillow or following you from room to room like a shadow, Jett brings a kind of playful affection that feels almost human. Jett's mischievous, chatty, and endlessly endearing -- more like a little boy in disguise wearing soft black pajamas. Not your average feline by any means. He has such a presence about him that you will know he's in the house.

Jett has an unknown past, found abandoned in a remote area in Chatham County. He quickly announced his presence saying "Get me out of here! I need to be with people!"

Jett has been neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. He is ready to meet his forever family. Young children may not be suitable for Jett's playful appetite for fun. Older folks may not be the best fit either as Jett may be a trip hazard since he likes to be so close. No worries because Jett is patient and determined to find his people.

Jett won't just live in your home; he'll live in your heart. Apply to meet him today!

Go meet their pets

CARE is a volunteer-based organization which relies on foster caregivers to provide loving, stable homes to homeless cats and dogs, helping them become the best possible pets for their future forever families. We do not have a brick and mortar facility; our foster pets reside in our volunteers’ homes and become a part of the family until a forever home is found. You can meet many CARE foster pets at CARE adoption events or, after an application is submitted, by agreement with the CARE foster caregiver at a mutually agreed upon place.
