Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I’m Poppy, and though I`ve returned to the shelter more than once, I haven`t given up on finding love.
I’m a black-and-white tuxedo girl with soft green eyes that carry my feelings before I ever make a sound. When I’m unsure, I make myself small — not because I don’t want connection, but because my longing is written all over me. Everything about me is quiet, sensitive, and sincere.
I came to the shelter as a stray in 2020, and not long after, I found a home. When life changed for my person, I had to come back to the shelter just before Christmas. This transition hasn’t been easy, but I’m trying. I’ve been learning how to feel comfortable in a communal room, how to gain confidence again, and how to believe that this isn’t the end of my story.
I may be shy at first, but I am deeply sweet. Once I feel safe, I form strong, meaningful bonds. I’m not the kind of cat who rushes into your arms, but the kind who grows closer to you day by day, building a connection that is steady, loyal, and real. I would also enjoy living with a feline friend who can help me feel secure and remind me that I’m not alone.
I would do best in a quiet, calm home with adults and older children who understand that I need time to blossom, patience to build trust, and a family who will let me open up at my own pace. In return, I’ll give gentle, devoted companionship that comes straight from the heart.
If you’ve ever had room in your heart for a shy, tender soul, please don’t scroll past me. Won`t you be the one to let me finally feel at home?
