Emery is the definition of a sweetheart. This affectionate boy greets you like an old friend, happily responding when you talk to him or invite him to play. He’s an expert in all the best cat skills: enthusiastic purring, adorable “patty-cake” biscuit making, gentle nose boops, and cozy lap snuggles. Yes — Emery is a true lap cat who will happily curl up with you and stay awhile.

He’s wonderfully well-mannered and easy to live with. Emery uses his scratching post like a pro, sleeps politely on the bed, and enjoys being brushed — even belly rubs are welcome! He shows affection with soft licks and gentle nibble-kisses (no biting), making him a perfect companion for someone who wants a loving but polite kitty.

Fill out an adoption questionnaire and get ready to meet with a counselor (same day!)

You'll meet with the pet with one of our adoption counselors or we will connect you with the foster home!

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), proudly operated by the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Montgomery County and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Trained staff provide animals with daily care, mental and physical enrichment, health and wellness checks, and more. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
