My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: Ellie May was adopted in 2021. Unfortunately, they went against our adoption policy and fully declawed her, then a few years later, further negated our adoption policy by surrendering her to a shelter. She is once again safe back with us. She will have to loose some weight and get shaved due to heavy matting. We will be overly cautious about who adopts Miss Kelli (previously Ellie May) this time!

Ellie May is an owner surrender because the owner is in failing health and can no longer look after her. She's not a fan of dogs, but can adapt to other cats. She is a princess and would rather not share the spotlight. She would likely do ok with another cat with a slow introduction and a space to call her own. She enjoys short jaunts outside on a harness and leash, but has never been a free roamer outside and prefers to be indoors most of the time. She needs a low stress, quiet household. She's not one for drama.

All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Please fill in our application via this link: http://www.felinematchmakers.org.

We only adopt kittens and young cats out within a one hour radius of Wilmington, NC. Occasionally we make exceptions for adult cats, but we are not a transport company.

IF YOU DO NOT MEET THESE GUIDELINES, YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED.

More about this rescue

Faith McNitt started Feline Matchmakers in January of 2020. We are a small organization that focuses on owner surrenders. The larger organizations focus on shelter pulls, so we feel this is the most needed service in Wilmington, NC. We also work TNR cases in small numbers. We are looking for fosters to build our organization. All fosters work on a charity basis, as we do not yet have the funding to pay for anything other than medical expenses. If interested in joining us to save cats from being euthenized or put in shelters, please contact us.
