Steak (chaton gris et blanc) : très à l`aise avec les gens, elle adore être près des gens et recevoir beaucoup d`attention. Elle est très amicale, joueuse et curieuse. Elle ronronne beaucoup.
Sumac (chaton gris tigré) : très timide... Si on l`approche doucement et calmement, elle adore les caresses et les câlins, surtout lorsqu`elle est déjà calme ou somnolente. Contrairement à sa sœur, elle préfère généralement ne pas être prise dans les bras.
Elles sont toutes les deux très gentilles, adorables et incroyablement douces. Elles devraient absolument être adoptées ensemble, car elles adorent jouer ensemble pendant des heures, puis se blottir l`une contre l`autre pour dormir. Elles ont toutes les deux un très bon appétit et jouent intensément ensemble, courant partout dans la pièce ! C`est hilarant et très divertissant à regarder.

Sumac (grey tabby kitten): Very shy... If approached gently and calmly, she loves petting and cuddles, especially when she is already calm or sleepy. Unlike her sister, she generally prefers not to be picked up.
They are both very sweet, kind, and incredibly silky. They should definitely be adopted together, as they love playing with each other for hours and then snuggling up to sleep. They both have very good appetites and play intensely together, running all over the room! It`s hilarious and very entertaining to watch .

Most of the animals available for adoption are at our shelter, on Jean-Talon Street in Montréal. Please come meet them during our opening hours. Note the wait time can be several hours on Saturdays and Sundays so, if you can, come by on a weekday instead!

It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds.
