Meet Duke, Katia, and King Harald (aka Harry) — a bonded trio whose personalities balance each other beautifully. Duke is the calm, affectionate leader; Katia is the curious, high-energy explorer; and Harry is the gentle observer learning to trust more each day. Together, they bring warmth, playfulness, and quiet companionship.
Duke (6 years old) is a sweetheart with an easygoing nature. He loves pets, chatting, and cuddles (the closer to your head, the better). With soft headbutts and a motor-like purr, he’s always happy to show affection. Since recovering from a dental procedure, Duke’s been healthier and more playful than ever. He’s a devoted big brother who helps Katia and Harry feel safe and confident.
Katia (1.5 years old) is curious, confident, and full of life. The bravest of the three, she’s always first to investigate new sounds, greet new people, or chase a toy mouse. She’s talkative too — quick to share her thoughts in chirps and meows — and brings joyful energy to the home while showing affection to her brothers and trusted humans.
Harry (1.5 years old) is shy at first but deeply sweet once he feels secure. With a patient human, Duke’s steady presence, and Katia’s encouragement, his confidence grows daily. He’s beginning to seek out pets and join his siblings for cuddles and play, showing a tender, trusting spirit that blossoms with gentle attention.
Their energy level is moderate — they love lounging in sunny spots and sharing quiet moments, with bursts of playtime chasing toys or exploring tunnels.
This bonded trio would thrive in a calm, stable home with patient adopters who let them come out of their shells at their own pace. In return, they’ll offer deep affection, loyalty, and the special bond only lifelong companions can share.

Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
