My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet and love (that's an order, and you'll thank me for it!) Bobo - who will absolutely learn a new name if it's said with love. ///

Bobo wants to say this about herself: "Hi! *wriggle wriggle* I'm SO HAPPY *wriggle wriggle* to MEET YOU!!! *wriggle wriggle wriggle wriggle*" ///

Ok, she's a little speechless while she's wriggling. This younger (about a year and a half) border collie is a charming, happy, and playful girl. She makes friends by getting them to chase her in a vigorous game of tag. At the vet's office, the techs found her charming and sweet. She's basically house trained, learning about the delights of peanut butter, contemplating how leashes work, and eagerly comes when called. ///

She does well with most dogs, although some seem to take offense to her very enthusiastic behavior. (She still is leaning about personal boundaries and some dogs don't like their boundaries invaded that much.) ///

Her energy level is on the high side, but she actually can settle down after getting to run around a while. ///

When she's not running laps (a really good agility candidate), she will entertain you with her antics, from finding random items to play with, to climbing in your lap, to chasing- and catching- her tail! ///

She really wants a playmate or two, one that can handle her antics with humor. ///

Don't you have room enough on your lap and in your heart for her? 💕💕 ///

And she is house trained, crate trained, and learning about not using the leash to trip her human. Her former owners said she was good with cats and children, but was too energetic. Her energy levels would probably be too much for little children without a lot of pre-training. She would probably freak a cat out with her chaotic energy.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
