Sadie
Dachshund Mix
9 years old
20 pounds
Fostered in Raleigh
Adoption fee is $300
Short list: Good with kids 5 and up, housetrained with a good schedule, apartment friendly, working family friendly, needs to be only dog, not reactive to other dogs on walks, cat friendly
Sadie falls in love quickly and deeply. This girl LOVES her person to the moon and back. And she’s one of the happiest dogs we’ve ever met.
She landed in our arms due to not getting along with other dogs in her home. After trying several different pack set ups, we have decided that she needs to be the only dog in a home. She does get along with cats so would do fine in a home with felines.
If look up the word “wigglebutt” in the dictionary – you will see Sadie’s picture. She throws a ticker tape parade when she sees you and every muscle in your body starts wagging a mile a minute. If she deems she’s not getting enough attention, she will tap you with your paw and then flop onto her back so you can’t help but rub her adorable belly. Sadie loves to be as close to you as possible, especially in the big bed at night.
But when it’s time to play, this girl is all in. Her favorite thing in the world after snuggling is to play fetch with her special pink ball or pink boy. She will play fetch until your arm wears out – even bringing it back. We promise you will tire out first. Sadie also loves to go on walks and does great on a leash. She enjoys sniffing and chasing in the yard as well.
Sadie is housetrained when kept on a schedule, but her family should expect accidents during the transition. She has lived with kids and would do great with a family with kids 5 and up, but would also do well in a family with visiting kids that are toddlers. She is crate trained and is a quiet dachshund – only really barking when the amazon truck shows up.
Sadie is spayed, UTD on shots, microchipped, and heartworm negative. She had a dental cleaning with extractions while in rescue.
