Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Vixen ❤️
Vixen is a mixed-breed sweetheart who came to us with less than an hour to spare. She was moments away from being euthanized at the shelter due to concerns that turned out to be nothing of concern. Vixen had eaten something that upset her stomach before arriving at the impound, and her symptoms were mistaken for something far more serious. Out of concern for the other dogs, rescue help was requested—and we stepped up just in time.
The good news? Vixen was never sick at all.
The even better news? She’s an absolutely lovely girl.
Vixen gets along well with other dogs, enjoys affection, and does well in a crate. She is gentle, sweet, and so deserving of the second chance she fought so hard to get.
Because she did not receive consistent food in her previous life, Vixen does guard her food. We are currently hand-feeding her, which she does wonderfully with, and her future family would need to continue this routine. For this reason—and this reason only—Vixen should not be placed in a home with small children.
We also believe Vixen may have experienced abuse in the past. When she feels nervous or unsure, she will “pancake” to the floor, making herself small. She needs a patient, loving home that understands trust takes time and that kindness can heal old wounds.
Vixen is not broken—she is learning what safety feels like. She is ready for a home that will show her what love truly means and prove to her that humans can be gentle, reliable, and kind.
If you’re looking for a dog who will blossom with patience, consistency, and compassion, Vixen may be your girl. She survived against the odds—now she deserves a life filled with love. 🐾💕
