My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good with kids: Yes, dog-savvy kids (10+)
Crate trained: Mostly (sleeps through the night in her crate)

This sweet girl is Lexley. Her adorable, expressive face and calm, soulful eyes make it easy to fall in love at first sight. She’s a big fan of curling up for a cozy nap but is always ready to spring into action when it’s time for fun. Whether she’s joyfully tossing around a toy or exploring her surroundings, Lexley brings a gentle, steady energy to every moment. Her affectionate nature and easygoing spirit make her a very special companion.

Lexley gets along beautifully with other dogs, greeting new canine friends with enthusiasm. She is curious about new humans, and may take a few minutes to warm up to new human friends. Once she opens up, she is a sweetheart and will thrive with a patient family. She’s met cats on leash and, while a bit curious, is mostly more interested in the people around her - especially if there are pets or snuggles involved! Lexley would do best in a home with dog-savvy children over the age of 10 who will respect her space and give her time to warm up in her new environment. She truly thrives on love and connection, no matter who’s giving it.

She’s still polishing her crate training and potty training and is doing really well on a schedule. Lexley does well in her crate overnight, but can be vocal during the day when her family is at work. Lexley is also quickly getting the hang of leash walking; she loves being outside and is eager to please, making every walk a joy.

If you’re searching for a sweet, affectionate, and fun-loving companion that will deliver endless smiles to your home, Lexley is your lady.

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
