Stacy is Ladybug’s slightly less talkative sister—a soft, sweet girl with a gentle, thoughtful side. She often seems to be searching for something… though in all likelihood it’s food! Stacy has mastered the puppy dog eyes, and when she’s enjoying pets or attention, she doesn’t hold back—she’ll happily turn them on for more affection while still keeping her independent streak.
She’s a little more independent than Ladybug, but still comes running for love and attention when she wants it. Like her sister, Stacy enjoys digging and exploring. She has a habit of resource guarding her human around other dogs, in the form of blocking access/growling (it has never escalated in the foster home, as she is easily redirected and backs down if the other dog asserts themselves. This likely stems from her appreciating the care she love and care she had so little of before entering a safe home. With slow, careful introductions and consistent training, this behavior should decrease over time.
Stacy is happiest in a home that can provide structure, patience, and consistency, along with plenty of love, attention, and enrichment. She’s a thoughtful, affectionate companion who will thrive with someone who appreciates her unique personality.
Stacy is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 1/10 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8am-Noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
