My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mia! This sweet Mixed Breed 1-year-old pup is a 50.2-pound sweetheart. She's making great progress with house training and is an active, happy pup who loves to run and play fetch. Toys, bones, and sticks are some of her favorite things, and she already knows “sit” and is currently working on “lay.” Although Mia hasn’t been exposed to children, she's been reported to do well with both children and other dogs.

A fenced yard would be ideal for Mia. Loud noises, especially construction sounds, can make her nervous. Having a safe, enclosed space would allow her to burn off energy and enjoy her favorite game of fetch with confidence.

Mia's foster parents describe her as a super-sweet puppy who just wants to please and be loved. She’s very playful and enjoys fetch, tug, and chewing on both soft and hard toys. She's wonderful on a leash and walks nicely beside you without pulling. She’s gentle around the house and respectful of furniture.

Mia is heartworm positive and has started treatment. Wish Bone will continue to provide treatment, whether it's through our vet or by providing medication to the adopter's vet.

One of Mia's most endearing traits is that she often sleeps—and sometimes even walks around—with her tongue sticking out, making her extra adorable. She loves being outdoors and would thrive in a home with room for her to run and play. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
