My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Transferred from Humane Society of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, litter of 7 puppies that were surrendered by their owner, approximately six weeks old.

From the foster: Hi, I’m Joe! My foster mom loves my coloring which is kind of grey with a cream splash on my chest. She said I remind her of a great cup of coffee, or a “Cuppa Joe!” So that’s how I got my name.

I am a big softy despite being a big pup. My paws are a little too big for my body right now so I’m a touch clumsy, but I make up for it with the best puppy eyes you’ve ever seen. I love to lay on my back and chew toys while I hold them over my face with my paws. I’m really quite a gentle giant.

I have a 2 year old dog foster brother and we get along great! So I’d do well in a home with another dog or by myself. They also have 5 kids ages 7-13 and I get passed around and held by everyone and would be great in a house with children.

I’ve been doing awesome at my foster house by peeing on the indoor grass pad. In fact, if I need to go I’ll return to find it so I don’t have accidents on the floor (I don’t want to make a mess). I have no idea what do to outside yet but if you show me some indoor grass, I’ll know exactly where to go!

I would love to find my forever home with a warm snuggly bed with extra blankets, some floppy toys, and people to hold me. Love, Joe

More about this rescue

Colorado Puppy Rescue is a 501(c)3 no-kill rescue for young puppies. We accept puppies from kill-shelters in southern CO, NM,TX, OK and KS. Most of our puppies are mixed mutts under 12 weeks old, some are as old as 6 months. We do not have a shelter. All of our puppies stay in foster homes so the only time they are available for adoption is at our adoption events. We average 20 puppies a week and update our website with available puppies Friday afternoons.
