If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I got my dog, Rita a female German Shepherd, in 2020 when I was in the beginning of college. My plans for her was to train her to be a therapy dog and take her to hospitals and nursing homes. I have done extensive training with her and she is an amazing dog.
Unfortunately for Rita, my life has gone in a different direction to where I cannot train with her as much and give her what would fulfill her potential. Furthermore we are starting a family do not have the time to take care of her.
After over a year of thinking about this, I believe it would be best to find her a home that could give her a job and purpose. She has just turned 5, and she is very healthy.
