If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Creamsicle came to us as a stray on our porch, which sits along an extremely busy road a mile from the interstate. We took him in despite already having four other cats, as our then 2 year old daughter was in love and would have been devastated to see him turn up as roadkill. Unfortunately he was picked on by those senior cats early on, and between that and our very divided attention, he never quite overcame his feral state. He seems very much to want to be friendly, but he'll get scared and snap at you over the slightest provocation.
I feel that a new home with no other cats (and no very young children, as they're unpredictable and scary for Creamsicle) could help break his stress cycle and allow him to relax and enjoy his old age. He would do well with a lot of attention, and is very food-motivated to boot.
