Dear future family,

My name is Herbert and I have been in a shelter in Kentucky since 09/2025. I promise I’m a good boy - I am dog and kid friendly! I’m only 40 lbs and estimated to be a year old so I’m practically a puppy still! I got neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccines. They think I’m a Huskey/Shepherd mix and very energetic so I would love an active family My previous family, who ever they may be, abandoned me and I became a stray. Thank goodness I was found by the shelter director! She didn’t hesitate to bring me in and get me in shape! Now I am praying to make this upcoming transport! CYP said I could ride in the van for my freedom ride if I have a foster or an adopter lined up! Transport is scheduled 12/28 in Greensburg, Pa if anyone would like to make my wish come true!

If your application is chosen and approved we will setup a meet and greet with the pet. You will hear back regardless if chosen or not.

We place the dogs in the best home not the first home. Please be patient while we go over all apps and we will be in touch.

We are foster based. You must apply on Crossyourpaws.com first. If your application is chosen as the best fit for the dog we will move forward with the approval process. Once approved you will be setup with a time to meet the dog. Our dogs are all over the greater Pittsburgh area.

Our decision to start a rescue is not one that we have taken lightly, it has come after years of volunteer work with other groups. Our goal is to make this world a place where starving, abused animals is a thing of the past. That shelters filled with dogs and cats waiting to be euthanized is unheard of. We want euthanasia to be something to help pets on their way to the Rainbow bridge not to end lives because of overpopulation. We vow to save every life that we can.
