Diego is a very handsome, friendly, young guy who was thrown out after he got a cat pregnant and the owners, kept the kitten and threw out Mom and Dad (nice huh?)!! Poor boy was desperately trying to get back inside thru a upstairs window, but they would not let him inside, leaving him outside on the streets of Wilmington.
He was so friendly, we could not leave him out there and knew he deserved to be back inside warm and loved!
He has now been neutered, vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies, flea and worm treated and is negative for feline leukemia and FIV (aids).
He would fight the cats outside trying to defend himself and not being neutered at the time but seems to be ok with them now.
If you are interested in Diego or any of our castaway cats, please fill out our application at castawaycatsde.com

If you are interested in meeting one of our cats, you can fill out our online adoption application at www.castawaycatsde.com. Once we receive your application we will contact you with any questions we may have, and then will set up a day and time for you to meet the cat/cats. Once a match is found for your family, there is an $85 adoption fee. This fee covers spaying/neutering of your cat, worming, all shots including rabies, ear mite and flea treatment, and Feline Leukemia and AIDS testing. All adoptions are done on a trial basis so we can be sure everyone is happy. Our goal is to find the best possible cat for you and to ensure our cats have happy forever homes.

More about this rescue
Castaway Cats is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit cat rescue based in Bear, DE, comprised entirely of volunteers. We do not have a shelter and all of our cats are in foster homes. This rescue was started in 1992 in an effort to help the homeless and feral cats in our area. Each cat we rescue is spayed/neutered, tested for Feline Leukemia and AIDS, vaccinated with FVCRP and rabies shots, de-wormed and de-fleaed. Because all our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, we do not adopt out kittens under the age of 12 weeks.
