History: McKenna is a beautiful gal who needed help from an unfortunate situation who arrived to rescue scared and unsure of that around her. She does best with another confident dog around and will thrive with a very patient and quieter environment to help her continue with her trust and confidence!
McKenna underwent ectopic ureter surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to address issues with urine leakage. During this procedure, she was also diagnosed with a rare condition of having two vaginas. Fortunately, McKenna is currently symptom-free regarding her urinary and reproductive systems, and her recent bloodwork shows all results within normal limits.
A Note from the Foster: McKenna is a 3 year old Wheaten Terrier. She is truly the sweetest dog, gentle and curious. She loves having someone around, and loves meeting new people. Everyone comments how social she is and not afraid to approach them. Although she hasn’t been around children I would guess she would be very gentle around them also.
She didn’t like being in her kennel at all , so I borrowed a larger kennel and left the door open for her to go in and out when she wanted. She now uses her kennel at night and for naps, and sleeps through the night without a problem.
She is doing very well with going outside to potty, and goes to the door when she needs to go out. She loves spending time lying on the deck watching the geese and bunnies in our backyard. A fenced yard would be a plus as she loves to zoom around and play.
