History: Sweetie and her adorable litter of unique kiddos needed help from a rural area and arrived to rescue looking forward to their second chance. They are all so sweet and have wonderful personalities.
A Note from the Foster: Sweetie - that’s really who she is! She’s very friendly and loves being near her humans. Her tail is always wagging and ready for a good belly rub. She’s great with little kids (very gentle) and other dogs. We don’t have cats so not sure how she will do with them.
We didn’t have to really do anything for potty training. She seems to know when it’s time to go outside and will wait for us at the door. So far no accidents in the house.
She knows “sit” and is treated motivated so that helps with training. She will counter surf if food is left out or the little ones leave their snacks within her reach. She leaves the trash alone so that’s good.
She isn’t a fan of her crate but will settle in. We’ve been trying to encourage her that it’s a good place. The door is open throughout the day and we put treats in it so she can lovely freely. At night and when we aren’t home, we do close it since we don’t know if she’ll get into anything while unsupervised.
She does bark, but that’s only if she’s unsure who is coming into the house. Once she sees who it is she is fine. She will bark if one of our neighbor’s dog is barking but will stop if we tell her. She’s a great listener.
Sweetie is a great mom to her 7 babies, but we know it’s time for her to fine her forever home.
