Take the Pet Home
Meet Ellie, a true ray of sunshine who arrived from St. Paul Animal Control and instantly charmed her foster family! This goofy, happy girl is a master of fitting in and will quickly become your most devoted shadow, following you everywhere with a wagging tail. She's a people-dog through and through, even happily "froggy-style" lounging on the kitchen floor while you cook.
Ellie is a dream dog in so many ways. She's completely potty-trained, going quickly when taken outside. She's also a kennel pro, voluntarily heading in when it's time – and quietly waiting until you wake up! Her mornings are filled with play, followed by a cozy kennel nap until noon. Evenings transform her into the ultimate couch potato, usually snoozing peacefully by 9 PM and heading to her kennel for a quiet night's sleep.
Ellie's obsession with stuffed toys is both adorable and entertaining – prepare for "snow" if you let her indulge! She loves to chase them if you throw them, though don't expect a return trip. She inhales her food with gusto, knows "sit," and walks well on a leash. This affectionate girl wants to be in your space at all times, happily snuggling on your lap or next to you on the couch.
Her most endearing quirk? Her beloved blanket! She carries it around, sucks on it like a pacifier, and makes adorable "biscuits" with her paws, like a happy puppy or kitten. If her foster family could keep another large dog, Ellie would be theirs in a heartbeat. Could this sweet, blanket-obsessed snuggle bug be the missing piece in your family?
Ellie Belly is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
