My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Snowball is a sweet, four-month-old tri-color American guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.

Snowball was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue with five other guinea pigs when her family had accidentally bred her mom three times in a row. Friends of Petraits took in all the females so they wouldn’t have any more litters.

Snowball gets along beautifully with other guinea pigs and is gentle with humans. She will need socialization, hand-feeding, love handling to become an amazing family member.

She is looking for a family with a female guinea pig in need of a friend. Snowball will not be happy as the only guinea pig in the home.

Snowball eats unlimited Timothy, orchard and botanical hays. She loves her fresh salad, fruits and veggies. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which they get from fresh pellets, a 1-inch squares of red pepper, a vitamin C cookie, or some of their dark leafy greens.

Snowball is looking for a home with people who will handle her daily, keep her well-fed, nails trimmed, and habitat nice and clean.

If you’re interested in meeting and possibly adopting Snowball, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting friendsofpetraits@gmail.com

Her adoption fee of $30 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $75, you can purchase her Midwest guinea pig cage (two-foot by four-foot), and all the supplies you’ll need to get you started.

She is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
