Posted 12/29/25. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE CONTACTING US. Adorable Helga came to the Nest from a local animal shelter as a new born together with her 5 siblings and mom (miniature poodle/bichon). She is a terrier mix and will be about 15(+) lbs. Helga is 14 weeks old, very sensitive, smart, adventourous, playful, sweet, and affectionate. She is ready to take on the world with a loving humans by her side. We would love for her to go home with either one of her sisters (Katy,Selah) or where there is another sweet and playful pup close to her size and age. Right now Helga is still a blank slate — curious, playful, and learning fast. Her adopter should be ready for the joys (and challenges!) of puppyhood: crate training, potty training, chewing, and plenty of energy....As she grows, she will need daily exercise, ongoing engagement, and continued guidance to become her best self. Bringing home a puppy is exciting — a big responsibility! Puppies need structure, consistency, and lots of positive exposure to the world around them. Socialization, consistent training, and daily interaction are what shape them into confident, well-manneredand happy adults. We highly recommend working with a professional trainer also for the socialization aspect. Please note: someone must be home every 3 hours at this stage of development. Helga means a 13+ year commitment, so please think carefully and consider all aspects of your life before adding her to your home.
For Helga we are looking for: a home with active people who can give her all the love, attention and training she needs to turn into happy and well mannered adult dog. We would like for her to go to a home where there is another dog about her size (not more than 25 lbs.) and age (up to 3 years is fine) - preferably male and we would like a securely fenced in yard (sorry, we don't do invisible fences). Well behaved, gentle children - preferably age 3+ - are fine. Helga is current on vaccinations including Rabies, she is dewormed, spayed and micro chipped. Her adoption fee is $325.
If you are interested in meeting Helga, please fill out an adoption application on our web site. One of our volunteers will contact you SHOULD WE DECIDE TO SET UP FURTHER STEPS TOWARDS ADOPTION or if we have questions.
If you have questions, please email us at inthenest@gmail.com and we will do our best to respond.

This doesn't obligate you to adopt the pet, it just lets us get to know you and see if you would be a good match for each other.

The Nest,is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Our mission is to rescue, restore, and re-home animals that come from local animal shelters or from individuals who contact us directly.
We are guided by the following ideals:
We will always place the physical and mental well-being of our animals above our own and that of other individuals, making a constant effort to act as an advocate for the animals we serve.
We will to the best of our ability assist in the care and placement of animals that require our assistance, regardless of age, demeanor, physical or behavioral health, because we believe that all animals at any stage in life and health have inherent value and an important place in the world in which we all live.
We will provide educational support for those individuals who seek our assistance, believing that educating the public is one of the keys to keeping animals in their homes and preventing senseless euthanasia.
We will provide ongoing care and homes for animals we cannot place in adoptive homes, because we believe that animals that make their way to The Nest should be cared for until their last days.
