Frango Mint is an 8 week old Chiweenie puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She was rescued from the shelter at just five weeks old after being abandoned without a mom or littermates, and she has absolutely blossomed in foster care ever since. She's grown from barely over 2 lbs to a whopping whole 5 lbs!

Her name, Frango Mint, comes from the famous Chicago holiday treat—those rich, chocolatey mint candies people wait all year for. Much like the candy, she is small, sweet, a little indulgent, and completely irresistible. One minute with her and you’ll understand why she leaves such a lasting impression.

Frango Mint has been raised in a busy, loving foster home with children and two cats, so she is very comfortable with normal household activity and family life. At night, she sleeps in a small pen right next to her foster parents’ bed and generally sleeps through the night. She may wake around 6 am, at which point she happily accepts some early-morning snuggles before drifting back to sleep until the rest of the family is up. Her day starts with breakfast in her play pen, followed by a bathroom break and playtime with the kids. Once the children head off to school, Frango alternates between naps and playful bursts until they return. Evenings are full and social— playing with the kids, napping on laps during homework, riding along in the car to practices, and being included in all the family’s activities. Around 10 pm, she joins the parents for more snuggles before settling into her own bed for the night.

Personality-wise, Frango Mint is playful, curious, and deeply loving, with a sweet and balanced temperament. She loves snuggles, actively seeks out attention, and communicates her needs— whether she wants to play, eat, or cuddle— without nuisance barking. She enjoys following her people from room to room and will occasionally wander off to explore on her own, always returning happily.

She has formed a particularly special bond with the youngest child in the home and often seeks him out for playtime. Frango Mint is also very comfortable with the household cats, following them around and even mimicking their behavior, all while respecting their boundaries. She regularly plays with a seventy-pound neighbor dog and shows confidence and appropriate puppy manners despite her tiny size.

Before joining her current foster family, Frango Mint spent just two days in a temporary foster home. In that very short time, she charmed them so completely that they were thrilled to welcome her back again while her primary foster family was away for the holidays. She's adaptable, incredibly lovable, and very loving in return!

Just like the treat she’s named after, Frango Mint is sweet, memorable, and leaves everyone wanting more.
