Mara is seeking a home with humans that love being active outdoors. Mara loves (and behaves better overall) when she gets regular walks and play of fetch. Mara would do best in a home of adults or children at least 5 years old and up. Mara is relatively quiet and a rare barker. Mara travels really well in her cage in the car, as well as in hotel rooms. Mara is very strong and a bit of an oblivious brute in her personality and movements—not a cuddler! She is very playful and would do best at a home with a fenced in yard, as she prefers spending long stretches outside—including hopping and playing in the snow! Mara is a minimal shedder, but a lot sticks to her Velcro-like thick fur coat and her terrier personality makes it difficult to find a fitting groomer. Her speed of food and water intake requires monitoring as she tends to do both too fast, causing her to have an upset stomach. She gets along well with dogs her own size, but is cautious of bigger dogs. 3.5 YO
