This helps Little Orphan's Animal Rescue, Inc. with pet care costs.
Percy came in with his two siblings; Tilley and Toby. These three were found by someone working at a property and could not leave them there in the condition they were in. It was very clear to her they needed medical care ASAP! She received permission from property owner to take them, and took them immediately to a vet, and they provided our contact information as a possible resource to help them have a place to heal and eventually find homes. These three tiny SICK kittens came to our shelter and have since made themselves right at home. Even the first few nights with us, and even though they were very sick, they played together and ate like maniacs as if nothing was wrong. They are all a joy! Affectionate, playful, and absolutely perfect.
From the first day, Percy was and has remained the bravest, boldest, love bug of the group. This little guy is hilarious. He actually walks with a certain swagger if you will as he seems to know he is something special! Both Percy and Tilley has significant upper respiratory infections that also included their eyes as well, with both of them having one eye damaged from their illness by the time they were brought into our care. Percy had with worst damage of the two, his eye was basically bulging out when he arrived to us. He was on antibiotics thanks to his initial rescuer and we continued, and added specific medicated eye serum as recommended by our vet. It quickly cleared the infection but unfortunately Percy's poor eye was already so damaged. He is scheduled to be neutered January 2026 but an approved application will move him up to the next available January date. He will be ready to go home a day or two after his vetting is complete, but may include continued evaluation of her eye and any further recommended treatments/surgery. We are working with our vet to determine if the eye will need to be removed and socket closed or if it best to leave the healed area as is. He will not regain vision in the one eye, but the other is healthy and includes full vision. He is basically a one-eyed bad a*s for all he has endured, but does not know or at least does not care at all that he is a little different. He is Percy B!
*****IMPORTANT****** We require your home to include a similar aged feline companion. Young kittens will NOT be approved for homes where they will not have another similar aged (kitten= under 1 year of age) companion. If you do not wish to adopt two kittens, please consider selecting a cat nearer to one year of age or older. Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of both cats while also making your life easier. Single kitten issues/problems are a real thing. Complete our online adoption application a www.littleorphans.org to start the process of adding an adorable kitten (or two!) to your home. Adoption fees for kittens include spay/neuter, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea preventative, and a microchip
