My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiyori is a sweet but complicated cat. I met her at the shelter, where she was terrified and hid in the corner of her cage, hissing at anyone who came close. I fostered her so she could feel safer outside the shelter, and over two months she slowly became more comfortable and stopped hiding. I adopted her so she wouldn’t have to go through the shelter again. I have had her for the past 2 years.

When my previously adopted cat reached adulthood, Hiyori began showing territorial behavior and has attacked my other cat several times. She also struggles with food insecurity. When placed on a vet-recommended diet, her aggression increased and she began marking. Separate feeding and anxiety medications provided limited success, & medical causes were ruled out.
Despite this, Hiyori is incredibly affectionate. She loves cuddling, kneading, sunbathing, and hiding under blankets. She’s shy at first, but once she trusts you, she’s very loving. Hiyori would do best as the only pet in a calm home.
