My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Loki is a handsome, fluffy boy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s house and crate trained, quiet around the home, and loves nothing more than being close to his people. Cuddly, sweet, and affectionate, Loki is the kind of dog who will happily curl up beside you after a good walk or a fun game of tug-of-war.

He’s an active pup who enjoys walks, car rides with the windows down, playing fetch, and chasing toys—or the occasional bunny or squirrel (he can’t resist!). Loki has a high prey drive, so a cat-free home would be best. When it comes to other dogs, he’s a bit selective and would do well as an only dog or with a calm, compatible companion.

Loki is still working on a few manners—like not jumping up to say hello and learning to relax around other dogs—but he’s making progress. He can be a little protective of his crate and sometimes tries to be the boss with other dogs, but with consistent guidance, he’s learning to be his best self.

Because he’s a wooly-coated boy, Loki will need regular grooming to keep his coat looking its best. He also aspirates a bit after drinking water, so a raised water dish helps him stay comfortable.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and playful companion who will fill your days with joy (and a bit of fluff), Loki might just be your perfect match.

More about this rescue

Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

History: Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
