Meet Hamilton

Hamilton’s story is one of second chances and resilience. This nearly 2-year-old Pointer mix originally came up from a Georgia shelter in February and was adopted right away. Unfortunately, due to unexpected health challenges in his previous home, his family was no longer able to meet his needs and he is now looking for a new forever family.

During that time, Hamilton had occasional challenges with the other dogs in the home, which we believe were related to resource guarding his favorite person. With everything going on with his adopter's health issues, it became too much for them to manage and clear that Hamilton would do best in a home where he doesn’t have to share his people. He is now doing very well in a foster home with Mutt Life Dog Rescue in Wisconsin with no other dogs.

To set up Hamilton for success, we recommend Hamilton be the only dog in his future home.

Despite the changes he’s experienced, Hamilton is a loving, friendly, and affectionate dog who truly enjoys being with people. He is wonderful with all people and is described by his foster as a big sweetheart and an enthusiastic cuddler.

Hamilton is potty trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash, making him an easy companion. He enjoys his walks, settles well at home, and loves relaxing with his humans. He is what we call a “low rider” with short legs that add even more to his cuteness. He is a goofy and playful guy who loves attention and is looking for a second chance. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention, and he’s now ready to find his forever home.

Age: Almost 2 years old
Gender: Male (Neutered)
Weight: 50lbs
Breed: Pointer Mix
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Potty Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Leash Manners: Good
Good with Dogs: Would do best as an only dog
Good with Cats: Not tested
Good with Kids: Yes
Hamilton has so much love to give and is looking for a calm, committed home where he can be someone’s special companion. If you’re ready for a loyal, cuddly best friend, Hamilton may be the perfect match.
