My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Panther! A sleek, beautiful black kitty ready to be the panther of your household. I’m a playful, goofy, and independent gal who lives for zoomies and a good toy session. Wand toys, feather toys, crinkle toys… yes please. If it crinkles or dangles, I’m all in.

While I like my independence, don’t be fooled, I’ve got a loving side too. Every so often, I’ll surprise you with a cuddle and turn into a full-on purr monster just to remind you how much I care. I’m a big fan of catnip-flavored treats, birdwatching from my favorite perch on the couch, and hanging out under the Christmas tree when the mood strikes.

Playful, outgoing, and full of personality, I’m ready to bring some panther magic into your life.

Sincerely,
Panther

Foster Update:

Panther is the sweetest girl.
If you are looking for someone who is a perfect cat than I have just the cat for you. This girl does like to build up some trust before she fully lets you in (especially with women), but once you have gained her trust she is the sweetest girl. As for other friends, she prefers a quieter home where she can be the center of your attention. But don't be fooled she does like her independent time. She is a cuddler, but only when she want to be so she will come to you she does love bed time cuddles and will sleep in bed curled up next to you all night. As for her sassy time, if she is cozy and you need to get up she will let you know her disappointment by letting out the cutest little meow, she also might let you know you should be done petting her by giving you a playful swat away of your hand.

Panther truly is such an amazing cat who is eager for a forever family that can give her the love she truly deserves.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter is in north Fargo, near the old Yunker's Children's Museum, located just off of University Dr. on 28th Ave. N. We have open house hours from 4-7pm Tuesday-Friday, and 2-6pm on Saturdays. We have adoption events throughout the year, and you can find more information about those on our website at www.homewardonline.org or our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/HomewardAnimalShelter.

More about this shelter

We are a small shelter that rescues pets from local impounds whose time is up, and would otherwise be euthanized. We only have 9 dog kennels and 26 cat kennels; as many of 80% of the animals in our care are located in foster homes throughout the community at any time. We are very limited on space within our shelter and often, we can't take in owner surrenders, but will do our best to help give guidance about rehoming pets.

We offer several services besides adoption, including microchip clinics and pet-friendly rental housing listings.

We are the only shelter in the FM area that rescues both cats and dogs, so without our help, hundreds of dogs and cats would be euthanized each year in local pounds.
