Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, I’m Annalise, a big-hearted girl who just wants to love and be loved. I’ll be honest, new things and new people can make me nervous at first, and sometimes I might come off a little unsure. But I promise I’m not aggressive; I’m just scared. As soon as you talk to me softly or give me a little baby talk, my whole heart melts and I warm right up.
Once I trust you, I’m as affectionate and cuddly as they come. I love curling up next to you, soaking in all the pets, and just being close to my person. I’m a playful, goofy girl too. Tennis balls are my absolute favorite, and I’ll happily play fetch or chase once I’m comfortable. I get along great with other dogs after a proper introduction, but cats are a no for me.
I’m super smart and eager to learn. I already know how to sit and I’ve been working on shake and paw. I do still need plenty of training and confidence building, but I try very hard and I’m incredibly loyal. I’m also a bit of a talker, since I like to express myself.
Baths are not my favorite, but snuggles, love, and attention are always a yes from me.
If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, intelligent girl who loves hard and just needs someone patient enough to help her feel safe, I might be your perfect match. I promise that once you earn my trust, you’ll have my whole heart.
XOXO,
Annalise

More about this shelter
We are a small shelter that rescues pets from local impounds whose time is up, and would otherwise be euthanized. We only have 9 dog kennels and 26 cat kennels; as many of 80% of the animals in our care are located in foster homes throughout the community at any time. We are very limited on space within our shelter and often, we can't take in owner surrenders, but will do our best to help give guidance about rehoming pets.
We offer several services besides adoption, including microchip clinics and pet-friendly rental housing listings.
We are the only shelter in the FM area that rescues both cats and dogs, so without our help, hundreds of dogs and cats would be euthanized each year in local pounds.
