My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hudsyn is a 40 lb, 2-year-old dog located in Grand Rapids who adapts quickly to new environments and is eager to learn. She is currently working on potty training, basic commands such as sit, and learning not to jump. She has begun crate training and will need an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and providing consistency and structure.

Hudsyn would do well in a home with children, but adopters should be aware that she does jump and can be mouthy, using playful nips when she’s excited. Ongoing training and supervision will help her continue to improve her manners.

She would love a home with another dog, as she enjoys playing and having a canine companion. Hydsyn does shed and will require regular grooming and brushing to prevent matting.

A meet and greet in Grand Rapids and a site visit are required before the adoption is finalized.

Hudsyn is a sweet, playful dog with lots of potential and would thrive in a home ready to guide her with patience, positive reinforcement, and love.

I’m fully-vetted, spayed & microchipped and ready to join your family with an adoption fee of $300. Questions? Shoot an email to projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require that the interested adopter come to meet the dog and then fill out an adoption application. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit. If all goes well, the adopter signs our adoption contract stating that, among other things, the dog will receive regular vet care and must be returned to us if things do not work out.

More about this rescue

We focus primarily on rescuing senior and special needs dogs in kill facilities. We are located on 30 acres of land in rural southern Michigan. We are a care-for-life facility, so any dog that does not or that we deem cannot be adopted will live with us for the rest of his/her life. Because we rescue the dogs that are not in high demand, it normally takes our dogs longer to find that perfect family. We believe that it takes a special family to adopt our special dogs.
