My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yuki is in foster care and they have a lot of good things to say about her!
Potty Trained: She is 100% house broken. Yuki has not had one accident since she has started staying with us.
😴Kennel Trained: Yuki will willingly go into her Kennel. If she hasn't had enough of exercise, she might whine a little at first but she quickly settles down. She often goes into her kennel on her own just to sleep or relax.
🤗Good with People: She loves people and is very sweet with friends and strangers alike.
🐕‍🦺Leash Walking: She can walk well on a leash when you use the front clip on her harness. She can calmly walk by people and other dogs without pulling or making a peep. She is also good on pack walks with our resident dog. She does get excited over birds and squirrels but she is easy to handle (she doesn't pull your arm off trying to chase them).
🤫Barking: Yuki doesn't bark. In the past month, the only bark she has let out was when I got too close with the vacuum. She whines sometimes when she is locked up too long but she doesn't bark. Even when all the other dogs in the house are barking, she stays quiet.
⚽️Play Time: Yuki likes tug. She is easy to handle during tug and she will tire herself out chasing the toy. Yuki can really jump too so if you throw a ball or toy over her head, she uses a lot of energy jumping. Yuki likes chasing soccer balls around the yard. This is our go-to "easy" game as it burns a lot of her energy and she can do it for a long time without getting bored.
🧩Puzzle Toys: Yuki has loved every puzzle toy we have given her. She is very smart AND treat motivated so puzzle toys are great when she needs to spend time alone.
Training: Yuki has recently figured out 'sit', 'down', 'place' and 'leave it'. Her recall is also pretty good. I can usually get her to come to me even if she is mid play with other people/animals which is great.

More about this shelter

The Humane Association of Warren County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center has served Warren County and Southwest Ohio for over 50 years. We operate the only animal shelter and adoption center in Warren County and as a non-profit, animal welfare organization, depend on tax-deductible donations to support our annual budget. We are proud of the fact that, during those 50 years, we have provided a safe haven and loving care for tens of thousands of homeless dogs and cats, giving them a second chance for new and happy lives. In addition, we have reunited thousands of lost pets with their beloved owners.

Since our founding in 1973, our ultimate goal has been to find loving, life-long homes for every adoptable pet left in our care. At the same time, we have been successful in dramatically reducing the alarming number of unwanted dogs and cats in Warren County through our progressive, long-established spay/neuter initiatives.
