My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Age: 2 1/2 years

Walnut, a 4 year old brown tabby with white male, entered the world as a confident young man, and he has never looked back. Rescued from an overcrowded living situation, he arrived as a loyal and silly guy, eager for connection.

Walnut is a little shy until he becomes comfortable, but once he is? He is a true delight. A social butterfly in tabby form, Walnut adores human company and will often announce himself with his signature raspy meow—usually to request attention, affection, or playtime. He greets visitors like a host who has been expecting them.

Play is Walnut’s love language. He is a total toy enthusiast, but stick toys and the laser light reign supreme. When not busy playing, he can often be found lounging proudly on his cat tree or snuggling with his feline friends. Belly rubs are not a trap — Walnut genuinely loves them, a rare and honorable trait.

Raised with other cats, he thrives in feline company and delights in head bonks, play sessions, and shared space. He would do well with respectful children and calm dogs, provided introductions are slow and thoughtful.

Walnut is affectionate without being overwhelming, confident without arrogance, and endlessly eager to participate in whatever is happening around him. He is the kind of cat who makes a house feel like home. Please consider making your home Walnut's Furrever home!

Additional adoption info

The time it takes to process an application largely depends on the speed at which we are able to contact personal references. If approved, we go over an adoption contract that the adopter will sign, and it is at this time that an adoption fee is required. If an adoption does not work out for any reason, our adoption contract requires that the kitty be returned to Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based no-kill cat rescue that is working to better the lives of cats in Gloucester and Camden Counties. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care simply to make room for new ones. Although our operation is small, each and every homeless pet in our program receives the absolute best care possible until a furrever home can be found.
We are small... but mighty. Every animal saved is a victory.
Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc. (FFRV) is an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to save the lives of homeless animals.

Furrever Friends operates entirely on donations from caring individuals such as yourself. And, because Furrever Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your cash donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to "Furrever Friends."

Our volunteers work hard to:
-Provide safe, loving care in foster homes until a furrever family can be found.
-Spay/neuter and vaccinate pets prior to adoption to help control the pet overpopulation problem.
-Find new Furrever Homes for animals only after carefully screening potential adopters.
-Raise funds through special events and projects to cover veterinary and food costs.
-Fund emergency medical care for injured or abused animals in the FFRV program
-Showcase homeless animals at various venues to help find them homes, including Nurture Pet in West Berlin and Glassboro NJ
