My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Age: 10 1/2 years (Partially blind)

Fancy Cat is a 10.5 year old soft-spoken soul with bright green eyes and a heart built for gentleness. Rescued from an overcrowded living situation, she arrived carrying the quiet patience of a cat who learned early how to make herself small—but never lost her capacity for love.

At first meeting, Fancy Cat is shy and reserved. She will sniff your hand, consider you thoughtfully, and then lower her head—an invitation. Accept it, and you are rewarded with deep, enthusiastic head rubs, full-body scratches, and one of the loudest purrs known to catkind. She loves to chirp while being pet, as if narrating her contentment in real time.

She is wonderfully social with other cats, having been raised among them, and delights in rubbing against her feline friends and exchanging gentle head bonks. She enjoys companionship, coziness, and community—especially when it involves making biscuits and settling into her bed for a well-earned rest. Brushing is a favorite pastime and is accepted with regal approval. She is fancy, after all.

Fancy Cat would likely do well with respectful children and calm dogs given a slow, thoughtful introduction. Her ideal home is one that understands that love doesn’t always arrive loudly—sometimes it arrives quietly, leans its head into your hand, and purrs like it means it.

She is not flashy despite her name. She is simply, profoundly sweet and ready for her furrever home.

Additional adoption info

The time it takes to process an application largely depends on the speed at which we are able to contact personal references. If approved, we go over an adoption contract that the adopter will sign, and it is at this time that an adoption fee is required. If an adoption does not work out for any reason, our adoption contract requires that the kitty be returned to Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc.

More about this rescue

We are a foster-based no-kill cat rescue that is working to better the lives of cats in Gloucester and Camden Counties. We do not euthanize any of the animals in our care simply to make room for new ones. Although our operation is small, each and every homeless pet in our program receives the absolute best care possible until a furrever home can be found.
We are small... but mighty. Every animal saved is a victory.
Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc. (FFRV) is an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strives to save the lives of homeless animals.

Furrever Friends operates entirely on donations from caring individuals such as yourself. And, because Furrever Friends is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your cash donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to "Furrever Friends."

Our volunteers work hard to:
-Provide safe, loving care in foster homes until a furrever family can be found.
-Spay/neuter and vaccinate pets prior to adoption to help control the pet overpopulation problem.
-Find new Furrever Homes for animals only after carefully screening potential adopters.
-Raise funds through special events and projects to cover veterinary and food costs.
-Fund emergency medical care to injured or abused animals in the FFRV program through "Geronimo's Fund".
-Showcase homeless animals at various venues to help find them homes, including our PetSmart Adoption Center in Deptford, NJ.
