Sammy's foster mom says he's going to make a fabulous pet for someone willing to give him a chance. His previous homes didn't provide much structure or training so he's grown into a 110lb puppy that's learning how to behave responsibly.
Sammy is a 9-month-old blue eyed Great Dane with a whole lot of personality packed into a very big body! He’s active, goofy, and always ready for his next adventure. Because he’s still a growing boy with lots of energy, he’s looking for a home with large-breed experience and people who enjoy staying active. He needs structure, exercise and mental stimulation to live his best life.
Sammy is learning his manners and will need continued work on leash skills and basic training, but he’s eager to learn and loves people. He does great with other dogs and makes friends everywhere he goes! Cats are unknown. Due to his size and enthusiasm, older kids would be best—little ones might get accidentally bowled over by so much love.
He uses a crate when left alone at home. He loves to be with his people, but will entertain himself with chew toys and bones.
ï¸ Certified snugglebug and proudly delivers the classic Dane lean whenever possible.
If you’re ready for laughs, cuddles, and a lovable giant by your side, Sammy might be your guy!
Sammy's adoption fee is $350 and an online application can be completed at www.texasgreatdane.org.
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas.
Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.
Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.
All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.
We also host additional adoption events throughout the year. Please visit our Facebook pages for the most current event schedules.
If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.
We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.
Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
