My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Penny (A119779) is an 8-year-old DLH who weighed nearly 20 pounds on intake!

12/24/25 This rather large kitty is Penny. Penny was surrendered to the shelter because her owner had too many cats and Penny was not doing well on free feeding. Penny is severely overweight, and it is very important for her overall health that she loses weight. She was seen by the shelter vet who felt her ideal weight should be nearing 12 pounds. Penny was started on a weight loss food, and we encourage her next owner to discuss with their vet on ways to help Penny achieve her weight loss goal. Eating small meals more frequently throughout the day helps. Penny was described as a quiet but friendly kitty. While at the shelter, she has also used her litterbox with no issues! We do not know the extent of experience with children or other animals; other than that she lived with cats in her last home. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new people and animals. If you are interested in meeting Penny, please let us know!
