Blitz is the kind of dog who makes friends wherever he goes — the gentle, loyal type who just wants to belong.
This handsome 2-year-old German Shepherd came to us as a stray alongside his Malamute buddy, Fizzy. When Blitz arrived, he was noticeably skinny, likely having put others before himself when it came to food. It’s a quiet detail that says a lot about who Blitz is at his core: kind, selfless, and deeply good-natured.
Blitz can be a bit cautious at first, taking time to read his surroundings and the animals around him. With other dogs, he tends to be submissive and respectful, making him an excellent companion for homes with friendly, well-mannered pups. Once he realizes he’s safe, his playful side comes out — and when it does, it’s pure joy. He loves to play, interact, and share happy moments with both dogs and people alike.
What truly sets Blitz apart is his capacity for connection. He has that rare quality where you can tell he’s paying attention to you — watching, learning, quietly offering companionship without asking for anything in return. He’s the kind of dog who will sit beside you, match your energy, and become your shadow in the best way possible.
Blitz is still learning that he doesn’t have to be cautious anymore — that food will always come, kindness is consistent, and he doesn’t have to shrink himself to be loved. With patience, reassurance, and a stable routine, he will continue to blossom into the incredible dog he’s meant to be.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a gentle playmate, and a best friend who will choose you every single day — Blitz is ready to be that dog. 🐕❤️

The adoption fee of each of our animals is listed on their biography page. There will be information listed about the pet on that page as well.
After you have spoken with a foster parent with Hands 'N Paws and have chosen a pet(s), you will be directed to fill out an Adoption Contract. Our adoptions are done on a first come first service basis unless a hold is placed on the pet(s). The hold is for up to 7 days and may be done when the Adoption Contract is submitted. You may place a hold by paying the Hold Fee of $25 per pet. The Hold Fee of $25 is Non-Refundable and will be in addition to the Adoption Fee. You may instead pay the full Adoption Fee which will also hold the pet(s). After 7 days, if the pet(s) have not been picked up, any fees paid will be forfeited and will be considered a donation to Hands 'N Paws Animal Assistance.
The adoption fee may be paid on our website using our Donation Button.
When that is completed, the pick up arrangements can be made and you new family will go home with you.
We do have regular events at Hale's Farm at Feed at 1510 W Basin Street, Ephrata WA on the 2nd and 5th Saturday's of each month from 10am to 2pm. At these events, we will have as many of our animals present so they can be visited with.
