Belle is quietly struggling in the shelter.
She’s one of those dogs who doesn’t ask for attention, doesn’t bark for help, and doesn’t demand love—but she feels everything deeply. Shelter life has been overwhelming for her, and it shows in the way she retreats instead of reaching out.
Belle was saved during our Christmas Eve Pull, arriving heartbreakingly thin at just 45 lbs, with no name and no one of her own. Yet even then, she showed nothing but gentleness—offering soft kisses, leaning in close, and trusting the humans who finally chose her.
She would thrive as the only pet in a calm home where she can decompress, feel safe, and bond deeply with her person. Belle doesn’t need chaos or constant activity—she needs peace, patience, and love.

A Wags 2 Wishes Adoption Specialist will contact you by email for any information that needs clarification. Check spam folder!

Meet the Pet

Schedule a meet and greet with the adoptive dog and your family at our rescue center in Plainfield.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If all approve, sign contracts and pay adoption fee Adoption Fees are: $200.00-$500.00 (subject to change without notice)

Wags 2 Wishes Animal Rescue's mission is to rescue abused, abandoned and forgotten animals in Illinois and surrounding states that are facing euthanasia and provide a loving and secure atmosphere for the animals transition in our foster home based program. The animals are given time to transition from lives of hardship and become cherished members of their foster family and eventually their forever home.
