My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cinnamon is approximately 10 years old and weighs 18 pounds. She is crate trained and house broken – and gets along with other dogs and cats.

Cinnamon is a sweet, happy-go-lucky little girl! She loves cuddles and belly rubs and is always giving kisses. She's not barky, doesn’t really play with toys, but enjoys a daily walk or time spent in the yard.

She is happiest being close to her people snuggled up on the couch. Car rides make her a little nervous, but if she's held, she settles right in and feels safe.

Cinnamon would make a fantastic family dog – she’s gentle, loving, and ready to finally enjoy the life she always deserved. All she needs now is a home filled with kindness, routine, and love.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Submit an application on our website for the pet you're interested in.

2.
Interview

The pet's foster parent will communicate with you via email or phone.

3.
Meet the Pet

The pet's foster parent will work with you to arrange a time to meet the pet and potentially any other pets you have in your home.

4.
Home Check

If you didn't meet the pet at your home, the foster parent will work with you to arrange a time for a home visit.

5.
Approve Application

If the foster parent feels you and your home are the right fit for the pet, they'll approve your application.

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

At the time you take your pet home, you'll sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. All records will be emailed to you.

All of our pets are in foster homes, and our foster parents lead the adoption process.

We have adoption outreach events at the Peoria, Illinois, PetSmart the second Saturday each month. Come meet our adoptable pets there! (You do not have to have an application done in advance--these are open to the public so adoptions are not performed at this events.)
