If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I inherited Daisy from my mother when she died in 2017; Daisy was 2 and missed my mom so much. She is a fantastic dog. She is very affectionate and communicative with people.
She is super smart and energetic, and loves to play ball and train. She is an indoor dog who loves being in her large fenced yard, essential for exercise. She knows Sit, Down, Off, Back, Stay, Come, Wait, and the AKC tricks Touch and Table.
Daisy doesn’t have solid recall for off leash walking. She barks a lot when someone new comes in the house, but out of insecurity, not aggression or protectiveness.
Daisy is reactive towards other dogs. She has had a lot of reactive-dog training and can walk on leash with high value treats to distract. She lives with our 17 year old Yorkie mix who is frail. Unfortunately Daisy resource guards (people, food, toys) and she sometimes snaps at the small dog. She has never bitten anyone, but we believe she needs to be the only pet in a loving household.
