We hope you understand that the minimal adoption fee we are asking is to continue our mission to rescue unwanted herding and working breeds from shelters/owners and get them adopted to their forever home. PLAY! K9 Rescue will pay for the spay/neuter of this adopted dog. The spay/neuter must be done at a clinic or veterinarian's office approved by PLAY! K9 Rescue. If the adopter chooses to take the pet to their own veterinarian for the spay/neuter procedure, PLAY! K9 Rescue will refund the cost equivalent to an approved PLAY! K9 Rescue veterinarian or clinic. All of our unaltered pets have a fully refundable deposit of $150.00 included within the adoption fee. Once the pet is altered at the appropriate time and proof supplied to our rescue, the adopter will be reimbursed $150.00. Our adoption contract explains this process in detail. Please note, we will not approve an adoption to individuals or families residing in rental apartments. Typically, apartment complexes have pet policies on restricted breeds and weights which includes German Shepherd Dogs, Dutch Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, bully breeds, etc. These dog breeds are not breeds that will thrive in an apartment setting regardless of the management pet policy. Our adoption policy is non-negotiable.
