Gia is a spirited, affectionate adult dog looking for the right home to enjoy her golden years.

● Originally rescued from Puerto Rico in 2019.
● Lived with one family for 6 years and is now seeking a new start
● Excellent house manners. Her foster mom says she is the easiest foster and fit right in at home!
● Crate trained. Quickly learned the command "kennel" to go in the crate.
● Energetic, loving, and very people-oriented
● Loves cuddling, walks, sunbathing, and outdoor adventures
● Big fan of outings and amazing in the car
● Knows her basic commands and happily offers her paw for treats
● So friendly and happy. Loves toys and plays independently
● Gets excited seeing other dogs on walks and would benefit from continued leash training
● Enjoys meeting new people and bonds quickly
● Best suited for a home with older kids or adults only
● Has a bite record related to an incident with a toddler (Gia does not like being jumped on and pinched while she is sleeping); placement should reflect her need for appropriate boundaries and supervision

Gia will thrive with a knowledgeable, understanding adopter who can give her structure, love, and a kid-free (or older-kid) environment where she can feel safe and relaxed. Her foster mom and volunteers at ODHS can give you more information on her to see if she is the right fit for you!

Old Dominion Humane Society (ODHS) Adoption Process
- Complete our Adoption Survey on the Adopt page of our website at https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey to expedite the process and arrange a meet-and-greet. Expect a response within about a week; please check your spam folder. As we're 100% volunteer-run, your patience is appreciated!

Requirements And Donations
- Required Adoption Day Items: A martingale collar and a non-retractable leash (available for purchase at ODHS).
- Adoption Donations: Puppies (under 1 year): $375; Adults: $275; Seniors (age-dependent): $175; Select dogs: $500. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards.
- Adoption Radius: Within 350 miles of Fredericksburg, VA. A $50 out-of-state fee applies.
- Breed Identification: Dogs are listed as "Mixed Breed" unless formal documentation is available.

- Visit our adoption center at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg, VA 22408 during adoption hours: Wednesday 5-7 PM; Friday 6-8 PM; Saturday 11 AM-3 PM; Sunday 11 AM-1 PM.
