Tux is a handsome, affectionate 3-year-old Tuxedo boy who (once he gets to know you) is a loving and sweet lap cat. He was rescued from a bad situation and multiple inuries (including a broken jaw) by an amazing foster mom who has nursed him back to health. She says he has an adorable crooked little smile!
Tux has thrived in his foster home with good veterinary and dental care and is settling in nicely.
Tux craves affection. He loves to be scratched on his head and behind his ears. He will even let you pet his tummy. Once he gets to know you, he loves sleeping on your lap or next to you on your bed at night.
Tux is a quiet boy who rarely meows, and he gets along with most other kitties. But because of his former trauma he’ll need to be the only cat in the household, although he might do well with a younger cat he can play with.
He’ll need an adopter who’s patient and understanding with all the stress this sweet boy has had to go through already in his young life. Once he trusts you, you’ll be rewarded with a playful, loving cat.
He loves to play with toys, and he loves catnip! He’ll roll in it and throw his catnip toys in the air.
He also likes small soft puff balls, and he loves his water drinking fountain — sitting by it and watching the water gurgle. He also loves his large scratching posts around the house. He’ll go to his new forever home with his fountain and a scratching post, we’re happy to say.
He has great inside manners like using his litterbox and staying off tables and counters. He’s neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his kitty vaccines.
He started out in life as an outside kitty (not his personal choice) but now he’s doing great indoors, enjoying a nice nap in the warm sunlight. A catio would be a great idea for this sweet boy.
Tux truly deserves a second chance at life. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Tux, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.

If everyone agrees this is a good match, the board approves the adoption.

Additional adoption info
First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.
We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
