Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Romeo — proof that the biggest lovers sometimes bark the loudest!
Romeo may greet new people with a little “stranger danger” at first, but don’t be fooled—he’s as sweet as could be. A few tasty treats and a quick trip outside, and suddenly you’ve unlocked his true form: certified sweetheart. Once he knows you’re a friend, he’s as loving and affectionate as they come.
Romeo has lived peacefully with cats before and did just fine, but he’s never had a canine roommate, so for now he’s more of a people-and-cats kind of guy. He absolutely adores people, though he can be a bit shy around taller men at first. Give him a moment (and maybe a snack), and he’ll warm right up.
He’s not impressed by fetch—throwing the ball and bringing it back feels a little overrated to Romeo—but catch? Oh yes. He’ll happily play catch for hours, showing off his energy and enthusiasm the whole time. This is one super energetic boy who would thrive with an active family ready for playtime, adventures, and plenty of love.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will steal your heart (and maybe your treats), Romeo is ready to be your leading man. Please make sure to have the proper time, space and resources to care for me the rest of my life.

More about this shelter
Companions Animal Center is a non-profit organization funded exclusively by donations and grants. Every day we receive numerous homeless animals. We shelter, feed, and provide medical care for these animals while searching for loving homes for them.
As a "No-Kill" shelter, animals who are in our facility do not face a "be adopted quick or else" ultimatum but rather are cared for until they can be placed.
Our Mission - is to focus all of our efforts and resources toward directly benefiting the quality of life for all abandoned or mistreated pets with the ultimate goal of finding each one a loving household in which to share their lives.
