Their adoption process

All of our pets are in foster homes, and our foster parents lead the adoption process.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Submit an application on our website for the pet you're interested in.
  2. Interview
    1. The pet's foster parent will communicate with you via email or phone.
  3. Meet the Pet
    1. The pet's foster parent will work with you to arrange a time to meet the pet and potentially any other pets you have in your home.
  4. Home Check
    1. If you didn't meet the pet at your home, the foster parent will work with you to arrange a time for a home visit.
  5. Approve Application
    1. If the foster parent feels you and your home are the right fit for the pet, they'll approve your application.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. At the time you take your pet home, you'll sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. All records will be emailed to you.

We have adoption outreach events at the Peoria, Illinois, PetSmart the second Saturday each month. Come meet our adoptable pets there! (You do not have to have an application done in advance--these are open to the public so adoptions are not performed at this events.)
