My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Lucy
Good with kids: Yes!
Good with dogs: Unknown
Good with cats: Would likely do fine
Housebroken: Yes! Flawlessly

Lucy is a sweet little girl who came in to the shelter as a stray, so we don`t know much about her past. Curious as a cat, Miss Lucy has a very outgoing disposition; whenever she has roaming privileges, Lucy always wants to check out any new toys or scratching posts set out! She isn`t the best at sitting still for photos, but she`s quite the cuddler once she`s done exploring. Sometimes Lucy can spring a bit of the stereotypical Tortishell attitude when meeting new cats, but as long as they`re patient enough to get to know her, she should be fine living with another cat.

More about this shelter

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the northern South Dakota and southern North Dakota area. We are here in the interests of animal welfare. We place homeless animals into good homes as well as rescue animals from abusive situations. We have a shelter facility just southwest of Aberdeen and house many animals while we try to find them good homes. We are a non-profit organization and are funded by memberships, donations, fundraisers and adoptions.

If you suspect an animal is being mistreated and/or abused, contact us. We will investigate or refer to the appropriate agency. Your call can be kept confidential and we will handle the rest.
