My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Geronimo is a handsome 5-year-old male who was found wandering a park and brought to safety by an Animal Protection Officer at the end of 2025. From the moment he arrived, Geronimo has shown himself to be a sweet, gentle soul. He approaches people with soft eyes, a wiggly body, and a happily wagging tail—and he’s not shy about saying hello, often leaning in or hopping up for affection. He walks nicely on leash, handles new situations well, and was easygoing during transport and handling. In playgroup, Geronimo is more of a dainty, polite companion than a rough-and-tumble player. He tends to be handler-focused, prefers calm dog friends, and will quietly walk away if play gets too intense. He seems to appreciate peaceful company and enjoys choosing when it’s time to engage or take a break. Overall, Geronimo is a loving, well-mannered boy who would thrive in a home that values gentle affection, calm companionship, and lots of quality time together.

Behavior Notes:
Playgroup 12/31/25: ears back and tail down when coming up to the pen. He's a gentle and dainty player, more handler focused. When Ernest came in to the yard who kept trying to play with him, Geronimo kept walking away from him. Seemed to like Apple who was on the calmer side. Whined at the gate when he wanted to leave

Per staff 12/30/25: dog approached excitedly, tail wagging at medium height, soft eyes, wiggly body. He jumped up onto me right away, continuing to wag and wiggle. He was easily transferred onto my leash and we scanned him with no issue. He walked well, and was easily lifted into the van without muzzling
