Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nobody puts Bramble in a corner...
Give this fluffy little guy his space, and he's sweet as can be! He has an irrational fear of being confined (kitty claustrophobia?) but as long as he's not in a carrier or cage, he's good to go.
Bramble and his sister Blackberry are spicy little kittens who just did not want to come around like the rest of their siblings. Their brothers and sisters (who have all been adopted) are all cuddle bugs who love to be held, but these 2 decided they had to stand out from the pack.
Bramble is all hiss but no bite when he's frightened, and just a shy guy who comes around quickly if treats or wet food are involved. Then he'll be slinking between your legs, begging for chin scratches and purring away in no time!
This sweet and adorable fluffball just needs someone that understands him and is willing to let him take all the time he needs to adjust. If you have room in your heart and home, and all the time and patience that's needed, please consider giving Bramble the forever home he deserves! Primary Color: Grey Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 7 Age: 2yrs 3mths 3wks

Adoption fee includes basic vaccinations, worming, flea treatment, feline-leukemia/FIV test, heartworm test, spay/neuter (done prior to leaving), rabies vaccination and a microchip
There is a contract and all potential adopters meet with adoption counselor to talk about application and make sure pet is good fit with the person and family. A "meet and greet" is required with all family members and the pet prior to finalizing the adoption application. If someone is adopting a dog and has another dog at home, we also require a "meet and greet" for the dogs as well. All animals in the home must be up to date on vaccinations prior to new pet going home. We do not adopt to people who will keep the pet outside exclusively. We may do a home visit either pre or post-adoption. Animals adopted from us are not be sold or given to another person. We verify all information on the adoption application and may deny an application with any false information on it. A follow up call or visit is done on all adoptions within first 30 days of adoption.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Wicomico County was started in 1968 by a group of people who wanted to help improve the lives of animals. We have come a long way in our 40+ years! We have a staff dedicated to making sure the animals that come to our doors are loved and protected as they wait for their forever home. Not only are our animals vaccinated, wormed and given flea preventative, we can treat animals that come to us with mange, ringworm, heartworm and pay for animals to be seen by an outside vet should there be a need. We have an on-site spay/neuter clinic that not only is used for our animals but we also offer low cost spay/neuter for animals of the public. We provide emergency boarding for victims of domestic abuse, fire, and medical emergencies. We also have the capability to set up an off-site emergency shelter for people evacuated from their homes. In addition, we have an education program to help teach kids about being a responsible pet guardian. We work with a wide range of rescue groups and our animals have been transported from our mid-Atlantic area throughout the North Eastern United States. Our shelter is an open admission shelter and we will take in approximately 3500 animals this year. We do what we do because of our love for animals and our desire to make a difference in their lives every single day.
